Anglican Student Ministry at the
University of Alberta

About Us

The Educational Chaplaincy for the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton has been a part of the fabric of the University of Alberta for many years.  The goal of this ministry is to support the staff and students on campus in their spiritual lives and through the ups and downs which come with these university years.  This support takes shape in a variety of ways.  Sometimes people just need someone to talk to and who will listen to their struggles, questions, and doubts.  Some students are looking for a resource about religious, moral and ethical issues which arise in their own lives or through their learning on campus.  The chaplain is there to serve as a sounding board and someone who may have a few answers and who will know where to go to find the answers to those questions about which she isn't so sure.
As an ordained Anglican priest, the chaplain is able to assist with funerals, weddings and other liturgical events as they arise in the lives of the staff and students on campus.  Grief support as well as marriage preparation are also available through the Anglican chaplaincy office.
